Punta Gorda Pup -- Leonberger at Farmer's Market

Looks like a Lion right?  Well there is a reason. The Leonberger is a giant dog breed that derives from the city of Leonberg in Baden-Württemberg, Germany. The  Leonberger according to legend was  bred as a 'symbolic dog' that would mimic the lion in the town's crest. (Source: Wikopedia)  And she is a pup less than a year old.

Built circa 1920 this full of charm lime green and purple building on Sullivan Street was built in the early 1920s.  It was the Aber funeral  home until the 1960s, had been a retail establishment, and now is the home of New Beginnings Hair Salon.

The Purple House

According to County Records this pretty little building on Sullivan was originally built as a retail store in the 1920s.  By the 1990s it was a pretty sad shape until another retail took it over and painted it this glorious purple, which it has remained.  It is currently owned by the Charlotte Sun.
